Officially established in 1994, ALDE is the peak body representing the interest of engineers in the Land Development Industry operating in Victoria. We create a forum for land development engineers to connect with their peers, to share their knowledge and to be inspired by new trends and innovation in our industry. As a non-profit organisation, our role is to create a community of like-minded professionals who are passionate about Victoria’s urban and regional development.
We have a diverse member bases in metropolitan and regional areas and comprise:
- Professional engineering consultancies engaged in the land development industry (“the Consultancies”) – over 60 consultancies
- Statutory authorities, including water authorities, councils and other governing bodies
- Commercial businesses within the construction industry
- Students in the field
We pride ourselves in our dynamic representation and promotion of women in Land Development Engineering. We also provide a platform for the next generation of engineers to network, learn and grow with our Yield group.
Victoria’s population has grown fast and this growth combined with megatrends such as globalisation, evolving demographics, changing consumer preferences, technology enhancements are creating increasing complex and fluid planning landscape. ALDE is in the middle of these changes and drives collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement of best practices within the complex and evolving sector of land development.
ALDE has a long and strong professional standing in the sector. This together with its wealth of experience and knowledge, the association can constructively negotiate outcomes that benefit all stakeholders in the industry.
